Our 14u team brought home 2nd place finish at the 2011 NC Halloween Bash

This was a long and tiring tournament. The cold rain came in during the night on Friday, but luckily it was out by noon on Saturday. We got the bats started fairly quickly on Saturday going 2-0 for pool play.

Unfortunately, we had a 8:30am start time for Sunday. The girls came out where they left off on Saturday, putting runs on the scoreboard against the Lady Stars from North Carolina. This game went back and forth until the end. The first ITB, we scored one run and the Lady Stars came back and scored one. We put the game away in the 2nd ITB scoring 5 runs.

We had a 6 hour wait until our next game. YES, 6 hours........WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!!! The girls did a great job of chilling for those long hours. When we showed up to play our next game, the field lights were on and we shined through them. We played another great NC team, the Carolina Diamonds. Our bats came alive in the 4th inning putting 4 runs on the board giving us a final victory of 11-6.

We headed to our next game where the temps were falling quickly, but our desire to win was raising just as quick. We faced the Carolina Hurricanes in the Semifinals. This game was close until "Howdyshell" hit a 3 RBI Homerun in the 5th inning. This win sent us to the Championship.

We faced the great Virginia Galaxy in the Championship game. The game temp was 42 degrees at start and was falling throughout the game. Our outfielders had frost on their cleats. After such a long day, our girls wanted food and heat :) Congratulations to the Galaxy for their Championship. They have an awesome team.

The coaches and parents are so proud of all the girls. You are all AWESOME.
